The Blue Brazili is a powerful Kurdish crime drama rooted in the real events that unfolded in Erbil during the 1980s and 1990s — a city grappling with unrest, poverty, and lost generations.
The film follows five boys who grew up in the cracks of society — with no access to education, love, or protection. As teenagers, they found unity, identity, and power in a stolen blue Volkswagen, which they called “The Brazili.” What began as reckless freedom soon turned into a reign of fear. As “The Blue Brazili Gang,” they became known for robberies, extortion, and even murder — leaving behind a legacy that haunted neighborhoods and terrified families.
But behind the violence was something deeper: five damaged souls shaped by a brutal childhood.
Written by Darwin Ways (also Executive Producer) and directed by Mohammed Sherwani, with haunting visuals from D.O.P Hawkar Farhad, the film is a gritty, emotionally charged story about how trauma creates monsters — and how those monsters eventually face the consequences of their actions.
Co-produced by Art City and SinaKurd, The Blue Brazili is not just a crime story — it’s a wake-up call. It shows that when children are ignored, society pays the price, and every gangster was once just a boy looking for a way out.
